This was such a wholesome and cathartic experience. Also, you know how to make people feel things, and that is what stories are about!

With cute aesthetics and a lovable plot, this game was pleasant for me to play. Still, I think I spend more time playing with coming up for names for my protagonist than reading (it's quite a short game).

At least you have the motivation to at least make something, I think with that it makes you more creative than some of us (including me :l).

With this very short review aside, I give your game 8/10 IGN points.

First of this is a lovely entree and the visuals are adorable. as an artist myself, a lot of it is very relatable, the inability of coming up with ideas is a constant fear to me, and always feeling like an "uncreative" creative type is not fun.

a lot of my ideas come randomly to me when I see something that acts as inspiration, but it's usually when I talk about it to my friends it goes from a passing thought to an actual idea I can use. most of my ideas are built from things I think are cool and things I want to make people feel (usually happiness.) but a lot of time when I try to sit down and create my mind goes blank and I feel stuck.

this proves you are very capable of creating wonderful things and I hope you do!

I remember when I was a kid and I loved to draw. I would doodle in note pads and copy my favorite artists. Then one day I saw a kid in class draw something and it was light years ahead of what I could draw so I felt like I wasn't good enough.

I then received support from my family and went to some art classes and got a bit better. My art wasn't great, but the art that I did create was unique and interesting to the people I showed it too. So I started drawing a bit more. Then I did some research on my favorite comic book artists and read an article on Jim Lee who talked about his work ethic. He said he sat down for 8 hours a day 5 days a week drawing. I thought, I can't get motivated to spend an hour on this. How am I going to spend 40 a week. So I left drawing behind.

I pushed all that stuff to the side and now I regret it a little. I think I sort of went through what you went through. I say all this because I think you have a wonderful little game that is absolutely unique. It's such a wonderful little story, even if it is just a short few minutes that we get to enjoy.

There isn't really an answer to overcoming the block. Some people spend their whole lives trying to write a single book while Stephen King has a hundred of them. Maybe it does take sitting down like Jim and spending 8 hours a day 5 days a week drawing. Maybe it's just being the guy by the bay painting the exact same landscape thousands of different ways.

I don't know, but keep entering these jams because you do have a talent not only in art, but getting your art across. Good luck and I hope you keep creating.

Also, no download?

My advice would be to not getting too invested into an idea at first and to getting more downtime from the idea.

Having hobbies (or vacation time) that doesn't involve creating anything can reduce your stress of creating something interesting. Those are the time that refill your creative juice.

Take for example, if you want to design a game, don't think about or even play games when you really want to rest.

i liked this a lot and now im gonna go try to make something, thank you!

lots of people feel this way so your not alone in that sense.
one thing ive found to help is having likeminded people around all working on either a similar project or the same project as you.
a colaboration is a great way to balence different ideas from diferent view points, and the end result is always greater than the sum of its parts. sometimes its just the dialogue between two creatives that can get the brain thinking about things you wouldn't have thought about otherwise.

for example i was doing a game jam (https://itch.io/jam/dream-arcade-archive/ this one) where we had to make a arcade game that we would have liked to see but couldnt due to the hardware limitations of the day.
i talked to a friend about it and we came up with an idea for a 2d platformer where an indiana jones type charactor colecting artifacts on diferent worlds before some disaster happens and you have to rush back to your spaceship
https://jacobsmith3204.itch.io/antiverous(link to that game if you wanted to play it)
without that help from my friend, i would have never came up with the ideas that ended up becoming the game i ended up making.  it is one of the best gamejam games i curently have made and i cant take full credit for it even though i alone programed and animated everything.
